What is Syncio?
Syncio is an app designed to make running an online store (or multiple) easier.
We automate inventory, product and order management, so that any changes made during normal business activities can be synced and reflected in real-time across different stores.
According to our users, we’re pretty good at it – with over 15,000 merchants, 3 million orders synced per month and a 4.7/5 star-rating on Shopify.
Since our ethos is that businesses can achieve more together than they can apart, we’ve also established a Marketplace function. On Syncio Marketplace you can find and connect with brands your customers will love and retailers who can list your products on their established storefronts. We’ve created tools to make collaboration easier like the ability to forward orders directly to a supplier for automated fulfillment.
What is Shipturtle?
Shipturtle is an app that allows you to create your own marketplace website and automate inventory management with listed stores. By nature of their functionality, they’re designed to cater specifically to large retailers rather than small brands.
While Shipturtle excels at launching these platforms, they have limitations when it comes to serving brands, suppliers and multistores. They cater to a more specific use case, and have a total of around 1,000 merchants.
So, which one should you pick?
We could tell you to go with Syncio, but ultimately you need to make your own decision based on your business’s needs. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, so you can compare and pick the right option for your store. Here’s a breakdown of the app’s key differences:
Use cases
Syncio
Syncio can be used by Shopify and WooCommerce stores of any size or type. Both Source Stores (suppliers and brands) and Destination Stores (retailers and marketplaces) can use Syncio. They both have the ability to invite other stores to connect on the platform.
Syncio is designed to be a universal store connection tool, so it’s up to you if you want to just connect your own expansion stores or branch out and work with third party retailers/suppliers.
Shipturtle
Shipturtle is designed for online marketplaces specifically. Shipturtle’s integrations include Shopify, Woo and Magento. Shipturtle users have to invite other store types to the platform and ultimately, they run the arrangement. They do have a Vendor sync app but it’s currently in a limited beta version.
Inventory sync capabilities
Syncio
Syncio ensures any order made on the destination store will have stock synced in real-time as well as the option to push the order to the vendor/supplier’s store for fulfillment. This happens automatically after the stores and products are connected. So you don’t have to worry about manually managing stock. If an order is cancelled or refunded, Syncio will automatically adjust the supplier’s stock. You can also get started in just a few simple steps.
“The Syncio app is an absolute game changer for my business. As a multi-vendor marketplace, it streamlines everything.” - MODATROVA
Syncio allows you to customize what information you sync, including metafields, tags, descriptions, prices and more. Once your Syncio settings are set, you are free to manage products as normal in your store.
Shipturtle
Shipturtle’s product management settings are rich, but some tools (like bulk actions and custom vendor setting) are not available on the cheapest plan.
Like Syncio, Shipturtle syncs and updates inventory in real time whenever an order is made or an item is returned. The dashboard system is quite similar, the main difference being that Shipturtle has a page for vendors only, whereas Syncio can sync inventory across all store types. Vendor onboarding for Shipturtle is also relatively straightforward.
Another distinction is that there are no low-stock alerts or safety stock buffer features on Shipturtle, so you will have to stay alert to avoid stockouts.
Payment features
Syncio
Syncio’s payouts feature automatically keeps track of products sold by vendors and allows you to invoice, making calculations based on your set commissions. You also have the option to manually adjust payment statuses and add notes, making it fully flexible and customizable. You can’t pay through the app, instead the app provides an accurate record of payment.
Shipturtle
Shipturtle also has an automatic payouts feature and an integrated payment gateway. But you can only pay via Paypal or Stripe. There’s also less flexibility in that you can’t manually set payment statuses. This can cause inconveniences if you experience a technical difficulty with the automation.
Store discovery
- Syncio Marketplace allows you to discover new quality stores, who are pre-vetted Syncio users. If you’d like to sell their products on your storefront, or have them list your products, you can reach out in a few clicks. Meaning you can find, connect and automatically sync listings with other stores in one app.
- Shipturtle allows you to onboard vendors but you cannot discover them in-app. Meaning you have to do the hard work yourself to research and vet potential partner stores.
Subscription price
- Syncio’s pricing is based on the number of products you sync per month. This means you’ll never pay for a service you aren’t actively using. You’ll get an email at the end of each month with a detailed breakdown of your plan.
- Shipturtle has four fixed monthly subscription plans (from $49-$1099 per month) based on the number of vendors you connect with and products you list. Be aware that the inventory tools you have access to vary significantly depending on your plan.
